Ford Focus Electric
Ford is now in the electric only car game.
The new Focus Electric is an all round great vehicle. Combining the efficiency and instant torque of an electric motor, with the shape, handling and looks of the Focus. The car has a 107 kW (143 horsepower) permanent magnet electric motor that produces 184 lb-ft of instant torque, and while its no Tesla, it certainly has all the power that a hot hatch needs. With the motor you get what would be a mpg figure of 107 mpg, putting it way ahead of any other hybrid hatchbacks. The battery is a 33.5 kWh Lithium Ion battery pack that with average driving will give you a maximum of 100 miles per charge. For a car this small its an impressive figure. I has more range than the Chevy Volt, and Nissan Leaf, and it looks much better and drives much better. The car features an impressive independent suspension system, regenerative braking, anti-lock brakes, power steering. The Ford Focus E spares nothing in terms of features. The exterior of the car is rounded to provide the best aerodynamic capabilities. LED headlights and taillights, and an all around clean look. The interior is packed full of features. Dual zone climate control, leather wrapped shift knob and steering wheel, and a 4.2″ driver configurable screen specifically made for the EV. 9 speakers provide ultimate sorround sound, and the infortainment system provides all the necessary features a long drive would need. Overall the car is nice, and the fact that its electric makes it incredible.
