A wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Ford brings new styling, technology, and performance to its new installment of hot hatches. The 2018 Ford Focus RS is the highest performance hatchback that Ford offers, and with a base price at just over $36,000 it is a no brainer for car enthusiasts. The whole car has taken cues form rally cars and drivers, specifically Ken Block, and applied them to the Focus body to create a perfect car. Its 4 cylinder, turbocharged 2.3L Ecoboost engine produces 350 horsepower, and 350 lb-ft of torque, coupled with a 6 speed manual transmission as standard. It can reach 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds, and reach a top speed of 165 mph. Its intelligent all wheel drive system allows the Focus RS to put all the power and torque it produces to the ground with minimal loss of traction. An advanced system allows the car to vary the amount of drive each wheel receives to have optimal grip in any situation, and a adjustable suspension allows the driver to tune the suspension based on the situation and preference. To handle the braking, 4 piston Brembo brakes come standard on vented brake rotors. A specially designed air duct directs airflow from the bumper to the brakes, keeping them cool in the toughest of situations. This allows the Focus RS to be not only a track monster and drift king, but also a perfect daily driver. Clean lines, a front diffuser, a rear spoiler embossed with the “RS” logo, low suspension and 19 inch wheels make the car look amazing in comparison to its non-performance counterpart. And that is just the exterior. On the interior the Focus RS is completely different than the budget Focus. leather and suede Recaro racing seats, a leather wrapped steering wheel, leather and metal accents, create an aura of sportiness that the regular Focus lacks. Overall the car looks great, performs amazing, and is efficient enough for daily driving.
